Big loss to rivals in Sheffield

In a game that was a total contrast to Saturday's action-packed performance at home to the same opposition the GMB Nottingham Panthers suffered a second heavy defeat in as many visits to arch-rivals Steelers (6-1).

Icing the same line-up, the Panthers' performance bore no resemblance to 24 hours earlier and they went behind after just 102 seconds when the home side banked one in off the back of keeper Henry Pacl, they added a powerplay tip-in in the fourth minute and stretched the lead to three with a blast from the blueline at 11.23 to give Nottingham a mountain to climb.

Steelers added an early second period powerplay and then a fifth before Nottingham got on the board which they did at the half-way mark when Logan MacMillan fired home at the back door from Jeff Brown and Matt Carter.

In the third Sheffield added a sixth goal when they swept up the ice after an easy penalty kill to score in the 55th minute to complete a miserable and forgettable night for the Panthers.
