American defenceman Cody Wild has signed for the GMB Nottingham Panthers.

The six feet one inch left handed shot has put pen to paper for the club and says he's excited to be moving to Nottingham for both Elite League and Champions Hockey League action.

Cody was a fifth round draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers in 2006 and Panthers' head coach Corey Neilson said of his latest capture: "He has top end skating ability and was highly recommended to us by recent Nottingham recruit Chris Higgins.

"Cody has had a great career in North America playing in both the East Coast League and he also has a ton of games in the AHL too.

"He was high up the scoring charts for 'D' men last year and had nearly a point a game in the season before that. I see him fitting in with our younger, more mobile and more skilled defence corps in the coming season very nicely."

Cody has played in over 200 AHL games with a further 123 in the coast.

He has played at Springfield, Stockton, Providence, Reading, Wilkes-Barre Scranton, Wheeling, Hamilton, and Orlando.
