Joe Jensen “retires”

Panthers’ forward Joe Jensen has left the club today.

He contacted the coaching staff to inform them of his decision to “retire”.

Joe has apologized for ending his time with the Panthers in this manner and he has wished the club every success for the rest of the season.

A club spokeswoman said: “Joe’s decision came out of the blue to be honest. The Panthers are all about passion and desire. He was a seasoned professional and has no doubt been thinking about this for a few weeks before reaching his decision, which we can only accept and move on.”

Panthers had been hoping to see Joe return to the line-up for tonight’s Challenge Cup quarter-final second leg in Braehead but obviously that won’t now happen and his number joins a long list of scratches for the trip to Glasgow.
