Late Fife flourish means Panthers have to settle for a point

The GMB Nottingham Panthers made the trip to Kirkcaldy to face the Fife Flyers without Jeff Dimmen who suffered a bad injury after an overtime slash on Saturday night. He joined Chris Lawrence and Jason Williams on the sidelines.

The drama was packed into the closing minutes of the game. Fife had taken the lead in the first minute but David Clarke fired home his second goal in as many nights on his return from injury and the teams were tied at 1-1 at the end of the first period.

Jeff Brown snagged the only goal of the middle period to put Panthers in front and Brian McGrattan scored just 34 seconds into the final period to open up a two goal cushion.

Flyers twice pulled their keeper to go with six skaters and scored with two and a half minutes left and five seconds left to force the game into overtime where they added a sudden-death winner as well.
