Narrow defeat at top of the table Cardiff

The GMB Nottingham Panthers suffered a narrow defeat (3-1) including a powerplay empty net goal for the home side in Cardiff on Wednesday night.

Brad Moran scored the opening goal on the powerplay in the second period and Nottingham led 0-1 going into the final session.

But a powerplay equaliser was quickly followed by a game winning goal in the 49th minute and the home side added another powerplay after the excellent Miika Wiikman was pulled in favour of an extra skater late in the game as Nottingham went in search of a game tying goal that never came.

Panthers head coach couldn't hide neither his pride in team's effort nor his disappointment at the way the calls went in the game, telling Panthers Radio (with Xynomix) he didn't think a very good Cardiff side had needed any "help".
