Nottm have to settle for four points out of six in Scotland - Fife win 4-1

GMB Panthers hopes of making a clean sweep on their three-in-three trip to Scotland came up short in Kirkcaldy on Sunday night.

It was a close game until the latter stages with no scoring in the first period.

Jindrich Pacl was in nets for a Nottingham side without Stephen Schultz and Steve Lee through injury.

In the second a Panthers chance at one end was denied and cleared up the ice for the home team to score the only goal of the first two periods just past the half-way mark.

Jeff Brown put a rebound away at 41.14 assisted Andy Sertich and Geoff Waugh to tie things up.

Panthers hit the post but at the other end Fife pounced on a loose puck to regain the lead with ten minutes to go and they stretched it during four-on-four action in the 52nd minute.

Panthers were pressing to reduce the deficit but found themselves on late penalty-kill duty on a slashing call.

They still pulled Pacl in favour of an extra skater and they killed the penalty but with 25 seconds to go Flyers hit the empty-net to wrap up the scoring.

Afterwards Panthers head coach gave his reaction to Panthers Radio (with Xynomix). Hear him now, just click on the link from the home page.
