Panthers lose in Braehead

The GMB Nottingham Panthers had a blank weekend when they again outshot the opposition heavily for a second night in a row without recording the goals they needed to win the game.

Panthers came out of the blocks hard and fast and took the lead on Sunday night in Glasgow after just 44 seconds (Jeff Dimmen) and they hit the post on the next shift too. But Clan equalized long range and on a give-away took the lead before adding a late period rebound goal to go in 3-1 up at the first break.

Brian McGrattan traded punches with fellow heavyweight Rosehill in the second as Panthers looked to get things going but it was the home side who scored the only goal of the period.

For the second night running the Nottingham coaches pulled the goalie early to go with asn extra skater (five minutes from the end) and Brad Moran got it back to 2-4 at 55.40.

Panthers kept Miika Wiikman on the team bench and went with six skaters again but the Clan found the empty-net to wrap up the scoring with 78 seconds left on the clock.
