COUNTDOWN : open training sees big crowd cheering on the guys

Last night's open training session saw a big crowd turn up to watch Corey Neilson put his players through their paces.

The session was dedicated to oldest fan Cyril Laws who passed away in the summer. His daughter Maureen and her family were on hand to help the GMB's Andy Worth present playing jerseys to the players. A full tribute to associates of the club who can no longer be with us will take place before the game this Saturday. Meanwhile the training session got off to a blistering start when Panthers Penforcer, Weapon AleX Penner hit the ice first, then the glass, then the plexi-glass, so hard it was bounced out of the holding posts.

The Elite League campaign gets underway this Saturday with the visit of Belfast in a match sponsored by Red Box Recorders, and you can rub shoulders with the players at the Slug and Lettuce at the CorenerHouse next Tuesday night. Everyone's welcome.
