Match Report

Nottingham Panthers made it eight wins in a row with a 2-1 victory on the road at Dundee Stars.

Panthers were without netminder Ryan Bednard as well as defencemen Quinn Wichers and Cooper Zech.

British defenceman Brad Bowering was called into the line-up. Jason Grande started between the pipes with Luca Sheldon as back-up.

Two quick goals give Panthers first-period lead
After Grande made a good save to deny Brendan Harms inside the opening 30 seconds, Panthers scored twice in just over two minutes.

Ollie Betteridge and Jordan Kelsall combined to set-up Zsombor Garát at the top of the left-circle (2:31) and Mitch Fossier fed Kristoff Kontos at the backdoor (4:25).

Grande looked strong in the Panthers goal and was at his best to turn away shots by Kris Inglis, Ben O'Connor and Kyle Pouncy.

No goals in entertaining second session
Grande continued to stand tall and stopped Drydn Dow's backhand effort and a redirect from Harms after Ben O'Connor's shot.

Tim Doherty, Sam Herr, Didrik Henbrant and Hugo Roy had chances for the Panthers in an entertaining but scoreless second session.

Harms did have the puck in the net on the powerplay but it was disallowed after he batted it past Grande with a high stick

Panthers secure huge two points
Fossier, Doherty and Reid Stefanson had chances as Panthers had two successive powerplays early in the third period, while Henbrant was denied from close range.

At the other end, Grande denied Harms again and Betteridge threw himself in-front of Keanu Yamamoto's goalbound shot.

The hosts scored on the powerplay through a one-timer from Spencer Naas in the right-circle (59:41) with a six-on-four play when Jarrett Fiske was lifted for the extra skater, but Panthers held firm for another huge victory.
