Match Report

Nottingham Panthers beat Fife Flyers 9-3 with a sparkling performance at the Motorpoint Arena in the Elite League.

Panthers remained without Otto Nieminen, Jaakko Niskala and Reid Stefanson, while Josh Tetlow also missed out after picking up an injury in Saturday night's win on the road at Manchester Storm.

Jason Grande started between the pipes with Jere Huhtamaa as back-up.

Five goals for Panthers in first period
Panthers controlled the opening period and scored two powerplay goals in three-and-a-half minutes to take an early two-goal lead.

Hugo Roy fired top-shelf from the slot (04:08) before Kristoff Kontos buried the puck past Janis Voris from the left-circle (07:35).

Roy scored a superb solo goal for his second as he cut into the zone (11:00), Matt Spencer got on the scoresheet with a bullet of a shot from just inside the blueline (16:29) and Cooper Zech set-up Kontos at the backdoor (18:57).

Bunz scores first Panthers goal
Tim Doherty buried a rebound to make it 6-0 (24:10) before Huhtama made his Panthers debut as he replaced Grande between the pipes.

Charles-Antoine Paiement netted from close-range on the powerplay, but Panthers hit back as Davis Bunz scored from the slot for his first goal for the club (34:23).

Jordy Stallard scored twice from close-range (37:44 and 38:20) to reduce the arrears at the second intermission.

Panthers ease to comprenhensive victory
Huhtama made a huge double save to keep out the Flyers at the start of the third period.

Quinn Wichers scored with a low shot from the left-circle (45:39) and Doherty netted on the doorstep (51:37) as Panthers made it nine.
