BERG PENS PANTHERS DEAL FOR NEXT SEASON
Nottingham Panthers have signed Canadian forward Adam Berg for the 2024-25 season.
The 27-year-old Calgary-born winger joins the Panthers after two seasons in the North American ECHL.
The 6'1" forward spent five years with Brock University in the USports league and signed his first professional contract with Cincinnati Cyclones in his final season at college.
Last season, Berg began the year with the Cyclones before a trade to Utah Grizzlies where he scored 23 (9+14) points in 50 regular-season matches.
Berg told Panthers TV: "I am very excited. My whole life has always been about hockey.
"To have the opportunity to play in Europe - and especially in a city like Nottingham where it's an unbelievable organisation - it's a dream come true.
"Speaking to Danny (Stewart) and Omar (Pacha) they both seem like really good guys. They spoke about the culture in Nottingham and what hockey means to the city.
"I did my homework and spoke to guys who have played in the league and no-one had a bad word to say about this place. It's very exciting for me and my family and I can't wait to get started."
Panthers Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: "Adam brings another element to our line-up. He’s got great size and a tremendous workrate.
"He moves well for his size and can contribute in all areas. He’s a hard-area player, a guy willing to do the little things and hard to play against."
Pre-season tickets are now on sale
Tickets for all three of our pre-season matches are now on sale.
The Panthers will host Canadian university team University of Quebec-Trois Rivieres (UQTR) on Saturday 24th August (7pm) with all tickets costing just £12.
German DEL2 side Lausitzer Füchse visit the Motorpoint Arena on Sunday 1st September (4pm), while Cardiff Devils come to town to complete the pre-season schedule on Sunday 8th September (4pm).
