The Nottingham Panthers came from behind to beat Belfast Giants 4-3 after penalty shots at the SSE Arena in the Viaplay Elite League on Saturday night.
Alex Dubeau made four saves in the shootout, while Craig Puffer and Kelly Summers were on target as Panthers took the extra point.
Nottingham were still without injured blueliner Duggie Lagrone, while netminder Jack Berry and defenceman Archie Hazeldine were the healthy scratches.
The hosts took the lead when Ciaron Long attempted a pass on a two-on-one break and the puck rebounded off a defenceman for him to score (2:22).
Tanner Sorenson won the puck behind the net to feed Adam Brady to equalise (16:39) and Panthers went ahead as Mathieu Gagnon and Mike Hammond combined to send Brett Welychka clear to convert on a breakaway (22:54).
Dubeau got a piece of Scott Conway's shot but the puck crept over the line (27:43) and just over two minutes later, Belfast went ahead thanks to Gabe Bast's one-timer through traffic (29:47).
Brady scored his second of the night as he tipped-in a Kelly Summers shot (47:48) to send the game to overtime.
Both Dubeau and Belfast netminder Tyler Beskorowany made some huge saves in the extra period to send the game to a shootout, including Dubeau stopping two Belfast breakaways.
Dubeau also came up huge in the shootout as Panthers secured an impressive road win in Belfast.
Panthers return to action on Friday on-the-road at Glasgow Clan, before returning home to host Belfast at the Motorpoint Arena next Saturday (7pm).
