MYERS WILL NOT RETURN TO PANTHERS
After 11 seasons in four spells, forward Matthew Myers will not be returning to The Nottingham Panthers.
The 38-year-old first joined the Panthers as a teenager in 2004 and spent five years at the club before a season is North America was followed by a three-year stint between 2010 and 2013.
Myers also spent the 2015-16 season with the Panthers before returning again in 2021 and taking-up the role as captain last year.
The Cardiff-born forward helped Nottingham win five playoff championships, five Challenge Cup trophies, as well as the much-coveted Elite League title in 2013.
"I love the city and the team - and Nottingham is a place that is really, really special to me," said Myers.
"Nottingham is like my home and it will always be like that for me. It brings me so many good memories and a place I will always think fondly about Nottingham."
Panthers CEO, Omar Pacha, said: "Matthew had been a massive part of the club over a period of two decades.
"He gave everything on the ice and was popular in the dressing room and with supporters.
"His contribution to the club has been huge on and off the ice and we'd like to wish him the best of luck."
