Canadian forward Mathieu Lemay has signed a deal with The Nottingham Panthers for the 2023-24 season.

The 28-year-old joins the Panthers after three seasons in the highly-rated DEL2 with Eispiraten Crimmitschau where he scored 61 goals and 82 assists for 143 points in 126 matches.

In season 2020-21, he led the German side in goals (31), assists (37) and points (68) before following-up with two more free-scoring campaigns.

The Ontario-born winger began his professional career in the central Europe-based Alps Hockey League in 2019-20 with Italian side Sterzing/Vipiten.

He scored a staggering 85 points in 44 matches, contributing 35 goals and 50 assists.

Panthers Head Coach, Jonathan Paredes, said: "Mathieu is a dynamic player that has a great scoring ability.

"He is a player that we feel will adjust well to the league with his speed, work ethic and shot.

"His separation from defenders is very impressive and he's a player that fits perfect with our philosophy."

Lemay said: "I am extremely excited to come to Nottingham and I have heard so many great things about the club and city.

"I have got some good vibes from the phone calls so far, so it was really an easy choice.

"With my chats with Omar (Pacha) and Jonathan (Paredes), it's clear they want to win and I want to win too.

"The style that Panthers want to play suits my game and I am really happy to join the team."
