SHELDON SIGNS TWO-WAY DEAL WITH PANTHERS
Netminder Luca Sheldon will return to The Nottingham Panthers for a second year after signing a two-way deal for the 2023-24 season.
The 21-year-old, who came through the Nottingham Ice Hockey Club junior system, will also ice again for NIHL 1 side Nottingham Lions.
The Nottingham-born British netminder got his first taste of on-ice action in last season's third v fourth-placed playoff match against Sheffield Steelers.
Panthers Head Coach, Jonathan Paredes, said: "It’s great to have Luca back with us for the upcoming season.
"I have heard some really good things about Luca and how he improved the more he trained with the club last season.
"I think he will really benefit from having Kevin Moore around and working with him. He is still young so he has that potential to get better on a daily basis.
"I like to thank the Nottingham Lions for linking-up with us again on a two-way deal for Luca to ensure he has the best possible development for his career."
Sheldon said: "I learnt a lot last season. It was very different to what I had experienced before. It's faster and the shots come a lot harder.
"I've been training for a few weeks at the arena and I feel like I am in good shape ahead of the new season.
"As a Nottingham lad I am excited to be back with the Panthers again and my aim going forward is to get ice-time and take it as it comes."
Sheldon will once again wear #33 for the Panthers this season.
