Nottingham Panthers were beaten 4-3 on the road by Glasgow Clan in the Elite League on Saturday night.

Hunter Vorva made his debut and started between the pipes with Ryan Bednard as back-up. Cooper Zech was the only absentee as he edges closer to a return to action.

Roy powerplay goal gives Panthers the lead
Panthers took the lead on an early powerplay when Didrik Henbrant broke at speed left-hand side and fed Hugo Roy in the slot who fired through Landon Bow's five-hole (2:57).

Vorva impressed in the first period and made good saves to deny Deven Sideroff, Cole Ully, Tyson McLellan and Steven Seigo.

Panthers ended the period strong with Otto Nieminen and Reid Stefanson going close in quick succession.

Nieminen on target before Clan hit back
Josh Tetlow fed Nieminen who cut inside from the left and used Roy as the screen to fire past Bow to make it 2-0 early in the second session (24:30).

Vorva made a huge save to stop Ully's shot from the slot, before Panthers hit the pipes twice in three minutes through Henbrant and Logan Neilson.

The hosts hit back with two goals in just over two minutes as Ully netted at the backdoor (31:05) and Rylan Schwartz scored on a breakaway short-handed (33:11).

Henbrant took a five-minute boarding penalty but Panthers produced a superb penalty-kill for the most part, with great short-handed chances for Nieminen, Herr, Matt Alfaro and Quinn Wichers.

Clan secure two points
Clan scored six seconds into the third period on the powerplay as Mitchell Heard won the face-off and Seigo fed Ully who buried his second of the night (40:06).

Heard fired top-shelf from the slot - also on the man advantage - to give the hosts a two-goal lead (46:11), before Panthers closed the gap when Matt Alfaro broke into the offensive and cut inside from the right (47:57).

Vorva was lifted for the extra skater in the closing stages but Clan held firm to secure the two points.

Double home action next weekend

Panthers host Belfast Giants on Saturday 23rd November (7pm) and Manchester Storm on Sunday 24th November (4pm).
