Nottingham Panthers were beaten 2-1 by Dundee Stars in the Elite League on Saturday night.

Rok Stojanovic started between the pipes with Luca Sheldon as back-up. Cooper Zech was the only player missing as he continues to recover from his lower body injury.

There were limited clear-cut chances in the first period with Ollie Betteridge, Adam Berg and Sam Herr having the best efforts for the Panthers.

At the other end, Stojanovic saved Keanu Yamamoto's shot from the slot.

The hosts took the lead on the powerplay in the second period through a bullet of a shot from the right-circle by Zachary Tsekos (22:01) and Drydn Dow made it 2-0 with a neat wraparound (24:37).

Panthers hit back quickly as Ollie Betteridge's superb feed from the right found Reid Stefanson who drove the net to reduce the arrears (26:23).

Stojanovic made two huge close-range saves in the third period, before Henbrant came close to an equaliser with some great skill in the offensive zone.

Panthers lifted Stojanovic for the extra skater, throwing everything at the Stars for the final couple of minutes, but saw the puck cleared off the line after a massive goalmouth scramble.
