800 CAREER GAMES FOR CARUSO
The Nottingham Panthers defenceman Mike Caruso played his 800th career game on-the-road at Belfast Giants this afternoon.
Caruso was selected in the fourth round, 103rd overall, by the Florida Panthers in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, after an outstanding junior career with the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League.
Caruso began his professional career in the American Hockey League with Rochester Americans where he spent three seasons between 2008 and 2011.
He moved on to San Antonio for the 2011-12 season and spent three years with the Rampage, while also getting a call-up by Florida.
Caruso made his NHL debut on 19th January 2013 against Carolina Hurricanes and also played three days later on-the-road at Montreal Canadiens.
After a year in the East Coast Hockey League with Reading Royals, he made the move to play in Europe with spells at Dornbirner EC (EBEL), Fehervar AV19 (EBEL/ICEHL) and HC Pusteral (ICEHL).
Caruso joined the Panthers in the summer and today's game in Belfast was his 37th appearance of the season.
Congratulations to Mike on his 800th career appearance from everyone at the Panthers.
