Nottingham Panthers were beaten 5-1 at home by Cardiff Devils in the Aladdin Cup to wrap-up the pre-season schedule.

Panthers went into the game on the back of Saturday's night's thrilling 2-1 victory over the Devils in Wales after penalty-shots.

Rok Stojanovic started between the pipes with Ryan Bednard as back-up.

The visitors took the lead when Stojanovic saved Gleason Fournier's shot from the bueline and the rebounding puck hit former Panther Evan Mosey and dropped into the net (9:14).

It was 2-0 for Cardiff when the puck deflected off a Panthers skate and Cody Donaghey hit the top corner on the powerplay (13:38).

Mosey scored his second of the night when he turned the puck home from the top of the crease after a great feed by Donaghey (24:08).

Devils scored their fourth only 35 seconds later as Josh Batch's pass from the corner deflected into the back of the net (24:43).

Panthers got on the board through Cooper Zech who reacted first to a rebound around the net and his shot beat Ben Bowns off the inside of the post (28:47).

Stojanovic made a good save to deny Batch but Sam Duggan fired the rebound through the five-hole to score Cardiff's fifth (32:38).

Panthers made a netminder change as Bednard replaced Stojanovic in the second session.

The third period saw chances at both ends but Devils secured the victory as both sides took a win each from the weekend double-header.
