Henbrant on target in 1-1 first period
Hugo Roy was denied on an early powerplay for the Panthers, while Sam Herr and Otto Nieminen also went close.
The visitors took the lead on the man advantage through former Panther Simon Després who fired through traffic from the blueline (10:07).
Panthers drew level when Roy was stopped by Bow but he collected the puck behind the net and fed Didrik Henbrant to equalise (18:50).
Clan lead after two periods
Roy, Nieminen and Herr had chances as Panthers put the pressure on for much of the second period.
But it was Clan who took the lead to the second intermission when Reece Kelly's shot from the blueline went in off the post (34:33).
Spencer goal sends game to overtime
A rocket from Matt Spencer drew Panthers level from just inside the blueline to tie the game up at two (45:43).
Grande made two huge saves in the final 30 seconds as Clan finished the game strong.
Clan take extra point after shootout
Grande denied Mitchell Heard early in the extra period before Panthers dominated much of the rest of overtime with Herr, Roy and Zsombor Garát all going close.
Kristoff Kontos and Mitch Fossier were on target for Panthers in the shootout, but Cole Ully was the game-winner for the Clan in sudden-death as the visitors secured the extra point.
