New signing Adam Berg chatted to Panthers TV after signing a deal with the club for the 2024-25 season.

The 27-year-old Calgary-born winger joins the Panthers after two seasons in the North American ECHL.

Last season, Berg began the year with the Cyclones before a trade to Utah Grizzlies where he scored 23 points in 50 regular-season matches.

Berg is friends with another newcomer to the Panthers, forward Matt Alfaro, with the players skating together in the off-season in their home-town of Calgary.

"I have known Matt for quite a few years now and we always skate together in the summertime," said Berg.

"It's always nice to go to a new place with a familiar face. I am really excited to start this new journey and to have Matt there will be really nice."

Berg also has another Panthers connection as he was coached in junior by former Nottingham forward David Struch in Regina.

Struch played for the Panthers in the old Superleague from 1999 to 2001 and then in the first year of the Elite League in the 2003-04 season as Nottingham beat Sheffield Steelers to win the Challenge Cup.

"What I can tell you about Struchy is I imagine he was very similiar in Regina as he was in Nottingham," continued Berg. "Full of energy and a real players' coach.

"As a young player he was a guy I could approach if I was having a difficult time. I really liked Struchy. He was a great guy and a great coach."

Watch Berg's full interview below on Panthers TV which also reveals why he chose Nottingham for the 2024-25 season.
