Defenceman Davis Bunz has joined the Nottingham Panthers for the 2024-25 season.
The 25-year-old links-up with the Panthers after two impressive seasons in the ECHL with Wheeling Nailers.
The USA-born blueliner spent five years with Providence College in the NCAA - the top college league in North America.
"I have heard a lot of great things about Nottingham and the Panthers," said Bunz. "I played with Félix Paré who was one of my good friends in Wheeling and he has so many good things to say.
"When I was talking with the management and the coach, their vision was similar to what I want to do with my hockey career so it sounds like a great place to go."
Bunz turned professional in 2022-23 and scored three goals and added 20 assists for 23 points in 58 league games for the Nailers.
His leadership skills saw him named Alternate Captain last season and he returned 31 points (10+21) in 58 regular-season matches.
He added five points (2+3) in the post-season as he helped Wheeling to the Divisional Finals of the ECHL playoffs.
"I really like the pro game, I think it suits me a lot more," continued Bunz. "Ever since I have gone pro I have really enjoyed it.
"Going overseas is something I have wanted to do and I know it will come with different challenges.
"But I think it will be great. I am just so excited for it and I can't wait for the season to start."
Panthers Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: "We like where Davis is at with his timeline. He had five successful years at Providence where he played mainly a defensive, shutdown type role.
"Since turning pro, his offensive game has got better and better with time and he has turned into a very capable and affective two way defender.
"He’s a great skater with good size. He really elevated his game on both sides of the puck last season and we are thrilled to get him off the back of that."
