FINAL SCORE: GIANTS 6-1 PANTHERS
The Nottingham Panthers were beaten 6-1 on-the-road at Belfast Giants in the Viaplay Elite League on Sunday afternoon.
Peyton Jones started between the pipes with Alex Dubeau as back-up, while Adam Brady missed out because of injury.
The hosts, who beat Glasgow Clan 8-0 last night, went ahead when Jones couldn't hold Grant Cooper's shot and the puck fell for Donovan Nelus who fed Matt McLeod to tap in (8:32).
Period two was scoreless but Belfast scored two quick powerplay goals in session three to take control of the game, as Henrik Eriksson's bullet into the top corner (44:04) was followed by David Goodwin's pin-point wrist-shot (46:33).
Panthers went six-on-four on a third-period powerplay as Jones was lifted for the extra skater and the ploy worked as Stephen Anderson tipped-in Fab Ricci's shot (48:38).
Scott Conway set-up Steve Owre for Belfast's fourth goal (56:24) and there was still time for the hosts to score twice in the final 68 seconds.
Conway fed Lewis Hook who went top-shelf (58:52) while McLeod netted from the top of the crease for his second and Belfast's sixth of the night (59:19).
