FIVE-MATCH BAN FOR DUBEAU

The Nottingham Panthers netminder Alex Dubeau has been handed a five-match suspension by the Elite League's Department of Player Safety.

In last night's Elite League match in Dundee, Dubeau was assessed a Game Misconduct under Rule 40: Physical Abuse of Officials.

The explanation from DOPS is as follows...

As the video shows, Stars forward Elijah Barriga puts the puck in the net, with the Referee signaling the goal. Dubeau, on his knees at this point, looking back at the goal net and Referee, gets to his feet and skates in the direction of the Referee and forcefully throws his stick against the glass in his vicinity. Dubeau then skates towards the referee, who has started skating away from the situation, and starts a verbal confrontation with the Referee, which quickly escalates into Dubeau using two hands to push the Referee in the back. This is Physical Abuse of Officials.
