GAMEDAY PREVIEW AS PANTHERS GO TO SHEFFIELD THIS AFTERNOON
📺 STEELERS v PANTHERS: BUY WEBCAST HERE 📺
The Nottingham Panthers are on-the-road at Sheffield Steelers this afternoon (4pm) for the first part of a festive season double-header.
After today's sold-out Boxing Day clash at the Utilita Arena, the two sides meet again tomorrow at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham (4pm) and this game is already a sell-out too.
The Christmas back-to-back matches between the arch rivals are always two of the biggest games in the UK ice hockey calendar, with over 16,000 spectactors set to see the two sides in action in the next couple of days.
Captain, Matthew Myers, said: "This will be a great test. Like us, they're hot too.
"They scored nine in Sheffield the other night against Dundee, so we've got to be switched-on from the start.
"We know it's a difficult game every time we play them.
"We really have to take care of the puck and hopefully come out on the right end of the scoreline."
Team News
The Panthers expect to be unchanged from Friday night's 4-2 victory over Glasgow Clan at the Motorpoint Arena.
Defenceman Duggie Lagrone and Craig Moore are still out of action because of injury (both week-to-week), so Jordan Kelsall and Fabrizio Ricci remain in defence.
Shirt Off His Back - Mike Hammond
There's still a chance to win even with Panthers on-the-road this afternoon, with forward Mike Hammond's jersey on offer in the Shirt Off His Back.
Tickets for the online raffle cost £1 each and can be bought by clicking here.
