Head Coach Gary Graham takes charge of The Nottingham Panthers for the first time this evening as Sheffield Steelers visit the Motorpoint Arena as the two teams battle it out for the GM the GM Memorial Trophy.

The new era gets under way with Panthers at full-strength for the first visit of the system of the arch rivals from up the M1.

Speaking on Panthers TV, in association with Jeremias Chimney Systems, Graham said: "If you look at Sheffield they are a lot like us - there was a lot of turnover in their team too.

"Around the league there were a lot of key departures from teams, but a lot have recruited well.

"I look at Sheffield last year - they were a small, very quick and good skating. I think they will be a good skating team this season.

"Up-front they have a lot more size, grit and jam. They also have some really good offensive defencemen we we are going to have to be aware of.

"We need to get established on the forecheck early and make sure we are beating their D up the ice. Controlling them to the neutral zone is going to be important."
