The Nottingham Panthers forwards Mike Hammond and Matthew Myers have been named in the Great Britain squad for next month's Euro Ice Hockey Challenge.

The duo are part of a 31-player squad for the four-team tournament, which also involves Japan, Poland and Romania.

GB face Japan in Milton Keynes on Friday 10th February before playing Poland at the Skydome in Coventry on Saturday 11th February.

Great Britain's final game of the tournament takes place in the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham on Sunday 12th February (4pm face-off).

Head Coach, Pete Russell, said: “Naming a squad of 31 gives us perfect opportunity to run our eye over a number of players ahead of the World Championship.

“It’s great that we are using the international break and I would like to thank everyone involved from the Elite League and Ice Hockey UK for making this happen.

“This is the start of an exciting year for us, with us having a World Championship on home ice in a few months too.”
