The Nottingham Panthers forward Jack Hopkins spoke with Panthers TV - in association with Jeremias Chimney Systems - about his recent extra ice-time.
Panthers were beaten at home by Sheffield Steelers last Saturday, before winning 4-3 after sudden-death penalty shots in Guildford on Sunday.
The 18-year-old Nottingham-born forward came in for special praise from Head Coach Corey Neilson after his weekend performances.
"The words give me confidence but I am struggling at the moment," said Hopkins. "I just want to score, it's really getting on me now.
"I like to hear it but at the the same time I have to try everything to get better and get some goals."
Panthers were losing 3-2 going into the final two minutes in Guildford on Sunday, but Neilson lifted netminder Alex Dubeau for the extra skater and Adam Brady's goal sent the game to overtime.
With no goals in the extra period, Panthers won the shootout thanks to four saves from Dubeau and penalty shots converted by Brady, David Levin and Niko Lahtinen.
"It was a brilliant result," added Hopkins. "It was a hard battle and we needed those two points, especially with Manchester doing well at the moment."
Panthers have a two-game Scotland roadtrip this weekend with games in Fife on Saturday and Dundee on Sunday.
Then it's a return to the Motorpoint Arena on Tuesday for the visit of Coventry Blaze (7:30pm).
