INJURY UPDATE: SIMON DESPRÉS

The Nottingham Panthers defenceman Simon Després took a stick to the eye in last night's game on-the-road at Coventry Blaze.

He was taken to A&E last night at the Queen's Medical Centre and returned this morning to see an eye specialist.

Doctors have thankfully found no major issues with his sight but there was a small bleed in the eye, so Després will be out of action while his eye recovers.

Simon has a follow-up appointment scheduled for next week which will give more guidance on his recovery time.
