Jordan Kelsall has signed a new deal with the Nottingham Panthers and returns to the club for a sixth successive season.

The 24-year-old, who was born in Nottingham, had a standout campaign in 2023-24 and was named British Player of the Year.

Kelsall first iced for the Panthers in 2017-18 on a two-way deal with NIHL side Swindon Wildcats and spent the following year on-loan with Dundee Stars.

He joined Panthers full-time in 2019-20 and was part of the roster than won the behind-closed-doors Elite Series in 2021.

Kelsall said: "It was an extremely easy decision to make and I am delighted to be back. It's a place I love to play in. This is where I see myself being for a while.

"For me, this is where I knew I wanted to play again early on. It was a difficult season but it didn't change my opinion on wanting to play here. I am really excited for the challenge next year.

"I am really looking to working with Danny (Stewart). From the conversations we've had already we have really clicked on the phone.

"He is really experienced in the league as player and coach and that can help me as he's seen me play for a number of years. I think he can get the best out of me.

"The support from the fans last year was amazing and I like to think I connect with them well. I think that's really important especially when you are from Nottingham.

"We have such a passionate fanbase. I know how they feel and I think it's important as a team we connect with them."

CEO, Omar Pacha, said: "Jordan took another massive step forward last season and was a key player for us throughout the year.

"He began his career as a forward but as last season showed, he has the ability to play in defence on a regular basis.

"In today's game, having that versatility is key for any team and that's one of the reasons why signing him back was important.

"Jordan loves the club and connects with the fanbase. I know he's determined to build on last season and push himself even further."
