The Nottingham Panthers were beaten 2-1 by Glasgow Clan in the Viaplay Elite League on Sunday afternoon.

Alex Dubeau started between the pipes with Nottingham Lions netminder Matty Bloor serving as back-up.

Forward Brett Welychka was not in the line-up while defenceman Archie Hazeldine was icing for Leeds Knights in the NIHL.

Jeremy Welsh had a chance within the opening 30 seconds, while Luke Ferrara's shot nearly trickled over the line.

Panthers had three successive powerplays with David Levin and Tanner Sorenson going the closest to opening the scoring.

Clan took the lead in the second period through Dyson Stevenson's shot at the backdoor (27:29)

Sorenson, Mike Hammond and Albin Lindgren had chances on a four-minute powerplay which Clan successfully killed, before JC Brassard fed Adam Brady who went top-shelf for the equaliser (38:11).

Brady tipped just wide in the early stages of the third period while at the other end, Dubeau stopped a Steven McParland short-handed breakaway.

The visitors won the game with 71 seconds remaining as Jordan Cownie broke down the left-hand side and scored at the near-post.
