The Nottingham Panthers Head Coach Corey Neilson has thanked the club's supporters for their amazing backing at the Belfast double-header this weekend.

The Panthers responded to last night's 5-2 defeat by the Giants with a 4-3 penalty-shot victory in the SSE Arena this evening.

Adam Brady scored twice and Brett Welychka was also on target as the game ended 3-3 after overtime.

Alex Dubeau made four saves in the shootout, while Craig Puffer and Kelly Summers beat Tyler Beskorowany as Panthers took the extra point.

"Our fans were amazing," said Neilson. "We had a huge block in the far end of the arena.

"I just want to say thank you to them, it was really good support.

"We didn't get an opportunity to skate over and say thank you and clap the fans as we had to hit the ferry.

"The players invested a lot tonight and I challenged them before the game to be their absolute best.

"I thought for the most part everyone was locked in and giving the best they could.

"They came out and showed they are willing to sacrifice for the jersey and that impresses me."

Panthers return to action on Friday on-the-road at Glasgow Clan, before returning home to host Belfast at the Motorpoint Arena next Saturday (7pm).
