Nottingham Panthers forward Otto Nieminen is set to be out of action for around six weeks with a lower body injury.
Nieminen picked up the injury in the game against Glasgow Clan at the Motorpoint Arena on 5th March.
The Finland-born forward missed last weekend's games with Sheffield Steelers and Cardiff Devils.
Lead Sports Therapist, Laura-Jo Bowler, said: "Otto went for an MRI at The Park Hosptial last week and we got an early diagnosis.
"This was followed-up with an appointment yesterday with the consultant.
"There is no definitive timeline for his return but the estimate is around six weeks from the time of injury.
"If his recovery goes well, there is chance he may return to the ice for playoffs."
Panthers also have a few other injury concerns and these players will have late fitness tests ahead of the trip to Manchester Storm in the Elite League tomorrow.
Saturday's game is followed by the visit of Fife Flyers to the Motorpoint Arena (4pm face-off).
The game - which is sponsored by Cattle Country - is heading for a sell-out and you are advised to secure your seats asap.
