Nottingham Panthers host Guildford Flames at the Motorpoint Arena this evening in the Premier Sports Elite League season-opener at the Motorpoint Arena (7pm).
The EIHL season began last night as Fife Flyers won 6-5 in Glasgow Clan in an 11-goal thriller and now the season starts for real for the Panthers and the Flames.
It's sure to be an emotional night following the sad passing away of Her Majesty The Queen this week.
Floral tributes in memory of The Queen can be left underneath the signed photos of Her Majesty and her late husband, The Duke of Edinburgh. This is in the foyer just next to Ice Locker. The couple were at the arena in 2002 as part of Golden Jubilee celebrations.
A tribute to The Queen will play on the jumbotron ahead of the game. With this evening's game being in memory of Her Majesty, the Panthers will now pay tribute to those fans who have passed away since last season at next Saturday's home game with Coventry Blaze.
Meanwhile, every supporter arriving between 5:30pm and 6:30pm will receive a free voucher from arena stewards, which can be redeemed for either a Panthers lager or soft drink to toast and honour Her Majesty The Queen.
Gary Graham was live on BBC Radio Nottingham talking ice hockey - alongside forward Jordan Kelsall - on Thursday evening when the news broke of The Queen's death, which saw the In The Game programme stopped.
"My thoughts and prayers go out to this great country that I am fortunate to be living in right now," continued Graham.
"Being from the States we know how important The Queen is. We all loved her over in America too."
Win with the Panthers tonight
There's the usual chances to win this evening, with tickets for the popular 50/50 and Shirt Off The Back raffles being sold around the rink and in the foyer. Tickets cost £1 each.
