PANTHERS START PRE-SEASON AT SHEFFIELD

The Nottingham Panthers get their pre-season campaign under way this evening with a roadtrip to face arch rivals Sheffield Steelers.

It's the first of back-to-back pre-season meetings this weekend with the two sides going head-to-head in the GM the GM Memorial Cup on Sunday at the Motorpoint Arena (4pm) in a game sponsored by McDonald's.

Head Coach Jonathan Paredes, who will lead the team for the first time tonight, said: "We are all excited just to get on the ice and get started this weekend.

"Over these pre-season games we want to see how we work on our identity and our systems, and then we build-up our chemistry.

"We will all learn with each other. We are a new coaching staff, there's new players. We can't wait to get started."

The Panthers have a full roster to choose from so will name their lines and two netminders ahead of the 7pm face-off.

Thirteen outskaters are set to make their Panthers debut tonight, while either Rok Stojanovic - against his former club - or Mike Robinson will get the start in goal.
