The Nottingham Panthers will pay tribute to Mike Hammond this season following the sad passing away of the popular forward in July in a car crash in Canada.

Hammond was a very experienced Elite League player and iced for the Panthers last season, before helping Great Britain win promotion back to the top level of the World Championship on home ice at the Motorpoint Arena.

Mike made a huge impact on the Panthers, the EIHL and the Great Britain national team - and was a popular figure with players and supporters alike.

The Panthers' helmets will display the initials MH this season in tribute to Hammy.

There'll be a tribute to Mike before the GM the GM Memorial Cup game with Sheffield Steelers at the Motorpoint Arena on Sunday 10th September (4pm face-off).

Supporters will also be able to sign a Book of Condolence which will be situated in the foyer on 10th September and this will be passed onto his family.
