Panthers are the most succesful team in the history of the Challenge Cup and have won the trophy eight times.

The first success in the Elite League era came in the 2004 final against Sheffield Steelers and Panthers also lifted the famous trophy in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016.

Corey Neilson, who is now Head Coach of the Clan, was coach of the Panthers for six of those Challenge Cup wins and also won one as a player under Mike Ellis, so there's extra intrigue for tonight's encounter.
