REMEMBERING THE LIFE OF MIKE HAMMOND
Family, friends and team-mates gathered in Canada yesterday for a special Celebration of Life service for Mike Hammond.
Hundreds of people attended the uplifting service, including people from the UK, as Hammy was given a lovely send-off.
There was also a fan-led gathering outside the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham as supporters and friends from across the UK gathered on Bolero Square for their own tributes to Mike.
Hammond was an established Great Britain player and made 27 appearances for the national team. His final contribution was to score a goal - and add two superb assists - in a 5-3 victory over Italy at the Motorpoint Arena to send GB back to the top level of the ice hockey.
He was so well known across the Elite League after first icing for Braehead Clan in 2016-17.
Hammy also spent time with Manchester Storm and Coventry Blaze - and last season played in the black and gold for The Nottingham Panthers.
Rest in peace Hammy. You will never be forgotten.
