RICCI BUZZING TO BE BACK AT HOME

Fabrizio Ricci says he's excited to return to action at the Motorpoint Arena tomorrow night as The Nottingham Panthers host Belfast Giants in the Viaplay Elite League (7:30pm).

After a six-day break to enable Great Britain to take part in the Euro Ice Hockey Challenge, Panthers returned to training yesterday to prepare for the visit of the Giants.

"It has been a good little break but obviously it always great to be back, especially now we're in the thick of the season," said Ricci.

"We now have the playoff push and it's exciting. We've got two big games against the Giants and we owe them - and this first one at home will be a big one."

Panthers are currently sixth in the Elite League table and Ricci accepts things should be better for the club.

Ricci continued: "100 per cent it should be better. The talent and team we have in the room, it should be better.

"But we have a mindset now where we create a mini-season and try and get on a little run.

"We need to get momentum moving into playoffs and the final-four weekend is our ultimate goal.

"We need to come together. We know what we can do and we have no fear of anybody in this league."
