RIP MIKE HAMMOND

The Nottingham Panthers are devastated to report that forward Mike Hammond has passed away.

Hammond, who played for the club last season, died in a car accident on Wednesday in Canada.

The Panthers would like to send our thoughts to Mike's family and friends at this very difficult time.

Our thoughts too are with all his former team-mates and everyone at the club is thinking of Hammy and his family right now.

Hammond was a Great Britain international and joined the Panthers last summer from German side Hannover Scorpions.

He was well-known all across the Elite League, first coming to the UK in 2016-17 to play for Braehead Clan.

The forward also spent two seasons with Manchester Storm and iced for Coventry Blaze in the Elite Series during the covid pandemic.

Rest in peace Mike - you will never be forgotten.
