The Nottingham Panthers Assistant Coach Rick Strachan says tonight's victory on-the-road at Glasgow Clan should act a confidence booster to his side.

Panthers won 8-5 in a thrilling game at the Braehead Arena which included two goals each for David Levin and Jakub Izacky.

Strachan said: "It's a big monkey off our backs. The past couple of weeks we've really struggled to score.

"To come out here tonight and score eight and get the win is the confidence booster we need going into playoffs.

"The guys had been frustrated and down on themselves. We've had tons of scoring chances in the past couple of weeks, but just could not put the puck in the net.

"Finally tonight the floodgates opened for us. There were some great individual efforts, some nice shots. We got the goals and, most importantly, the two points."

Panthers are back in action tomorrow on-the-road to face Coventry Blaze in the Skydome Arena (5:30pm).
