Today marks 20 years to the day that The Nottingham Panthers beat Sheffield Steelers in the Sheffield Arena to secure the 2004 Challenge Cup.

The first leg on Lower Parliament Street ended 1-1 with David Clarke scoring for the Panthers.

In the second leg in Sheffield, Joel Salonen and John Craighead gave Panthers a 2-0 first-period lead.

Erik Anderson closed the gap late in the second session for the Steelers and scored a second at the midway point of the third period.

Kim Ahlroos scored the overtime winner at 60:53 to secure a piece of silverware for coach Paul Adey and his exciting roster.
