Nottingham Panthers defenceman Cooper Zech has returned to the ice as he continues his recovery from a lower body injury.

Zech sustained the injury in the Challenge Cup victory over Guildford Flames at the Motorpoint Arena in mid-September.

The 25-year-old spent 15 minutes on the ice today as he stepped up his rehabilitation.

Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: "It was great to see Cooper on the ice today.

"We will ease him in gently and he won't resume full-contact training for a while, but this was a significant step.

"Huge credit should go to our medical staff for working with Cooper to get him into the position to step back on the ice.

"Cooper is a popular guy in the room and the boys are so happy to see him back involved on the ice."
