FERRARA'S RELIEF FOR FIRST PANTHERS GOAL
The Nottingham Panthers forward Luke Ferrara has spoken of his relief at scoring his first goal for the club in the thrilling 5-4 victory over Belfast Giants in the Elite League last night.
Ferrara was one of five different goalscorers for the Panthers in front of a packed Saturday night crowd at the Motorpoint Arena.
"I'm glad I just didn't hit the post again - I think I've hit it at least 15 times," said Ferrara.
"I've just put my head down, kept working hard and hoping it would come and eventually it did.
"The whole team came to play tonight - it was a brilliant victory."
The Great Britain international revealed the goal had extra special significance.
"I had a niece born on Friday," continued Ferrara. "Maybe she brought me a little luck.
"I scored that goal for her and I am just happy to get it going."
Panthers are back in action this evening as they make the trip to Scotland to take-on Fife Flyers (6pm face-off).
